Shipping and Returns

Last updated: 21 October 2026

This page explains how we quote freight, how long production and transport take, and what to do if a shipment arrives damaged or short. It should be read together with our Terms of Service, which contains the binding conditions.

1. Trade terms we quote

We quote on the following Incoterms 2020 rules. The rule is always stated on the quotation, because it decides who arranges and pays for each leg of the journey.

RuleWho arranges freightWho pays insuranceRisk passesTypical use
EXWBuyerBuyerAt our premisesBuyer has its own forwarder in China
FOB Ningbo or ShanghaiBuyerBuyerWhen goods are on boardMost common for container orders
CIFIFUNIFUN, minimum coverWhen goods are on boardBuyer wants one landed price to port
DDPIFUNIFUNAt the named destination, ready for unloadingBuyer wants a delivered price with no import formalities

Under CIF, insurance covers the goods to the destination port at minimum Institute Cargo Clauses (C) level. That cover does not include theft, non-delivery or water damage in the container. If those risks matter for your route, ask us to quote all-risks cover, or arrange your own insurance.

On EXW, FOB and CIF terms, import duty, VAT and destination clearance are the buyer’s responsibility. Under DDP we arrange freight, export clearance, import clearance, duty and VAT, and deliver to the address you name. We quote DDP only on request, because the duty and tax element depends on the destination country, the HS code of each part and the delivery address — we need all three before we can give a firm figure. Any difference in duty or tax charged by the destination customs authority is for the buyer’s account unless we agree otherwise in writing.

2. Samples

We supply samples so that you can check dimensions, material and finish before committing to a production order.

  • Sample policy: Free of charge, with courier freight at the buyer’s expense.
  • Sample lead time: 2 to 15 working days, depending on the part and on stock availability.
  • Sample freight: collect on the buyer’s courier account where one is available.

Because samples are free of charge, there is no sample charge to credit against a later order. Courier costs are not refundable. Ask your sales contact to confirm the lead time and the freight cost in writing before dispatch.

3. Production lead time

Standard production lead time: 25 working days after we receive the deposit and approve any required drawing or sample.

Three things push a delivery date out, and it is worth checking all three before you plan a launch:

  1. Tooling or drawing approval. A new part, or a revised drawing, needs a sample approved before mass production. That approval loop is outside the lead time unless the quotation says otherwise.
  2. Spring Festival. Our factory and most of our supply chain close for several weeks around Chinese New Year. Orders placed in December or January usually ship later than the standard lead time suggests. Ask us for the exact closure dates if your order falls in that window.
  3. Peak season. Container space and equipment are tight in the weeks before major holidays in destination markets. Book early if you have a fixed retail date.

4. Shipping methods and transit

MethodBest forTypical transit after loading
Sea freight, FCLFull container orders, best unit costDepends on route; ask for the carrier’s current schedule
Sea freight, LCLSmaller orders that do not fill a containerLonger than FCL, because of consolidation at both ends
Air freightUrgent or high-value partsDays rather than weeks, at a much higher cost per kilo
CourierSamples and small spare-part shipmentsA few working days to most destinations

Transit times are indicative only. They depend on the carrier, the route, port congestion and customs in the destination country, none of which we control. We give you the booking reference and the bill of lading once the goods are loaded, so you can track the shipment with the carrier directly.

4.1 Packaging

Parts are packed for export: inner protection, a carton rated for the weight, and palletisation where the order volume justifies it. Each carton is labelled with the part number, quantity and carton number. If you need retail-ready packaging, barcodes, or your own brand printed on the box, tell us before production — packaging changes affect both price and lead time.

5. Receiving the shipment

What you do in the first ten minutes after the container or pallet arrives determines whether a damage claim can be recovered.

  1. Check the container or pallet before you sign. Look for a broken seal, crushed cartons, water staining or a shifted load. If you see any of it, write it on the carrier’s delivery document before signing, and photograph the container, the seal and the damaged cartons.
  2. Count the cartons against the packing list. Sign for the number you actually received, not the number on the document.
  3. Photograph before you unpack. One photo of the full pallet, one of each damaged carton showing its label, and one of the part itself.
  4. Keep the packaging. Carriers and insurers refuse claims where the packaging has been thrown away.

If you sign a clean delivery receipt and only discover the damage after the carrier has left, we can still help — but the carrier’s liability is usually closed at that point, which limits what can be recovered. Noting the damage on the delivery document costs nothing and preserves the claim.

6. Damaged or short shipments: the claim process

Send the claim to sales@ifunatvparts.com with the subject line Damage claim — order number, and include the following. A complete file is usually settled in one round; an incomplete one takes several.

What to sendWhy we need it
Order or invoice numberLocates the production and packing record
Part number and quantity affectedConfirms what was packed against what arrived
Photographs of the carton, the label and the partShows whether the fault is transit damage or a manufacturing defect
The signed delivery document, if damage was notedSupports the claim against the carrier
A short description of what is wrongLets our engineer identify the cause without shipping the part back

Deadlines, counted from the date of delivery:

  • Visible damage or shortage: 7 days
  • Defects found on unpacking or first fitment: 30 days
  • Warranty claims: within the warranty period in the Terms of Service

We answer within two working days with either a decision or a request for one more piece of information. If the claim is accepted, we replace the goods or issue a credit note for their invoiced value, at our option. Where the quantity is small, we normally ship the replacement with your next order rather than sending a separate courier shipment.

7. Returns

Do not ship anything back before you have a written return authorisation and the return address from us. Goods that arrive without one are refused or returned to the sender at the sender’s cost.

Returned goods must be unused, complete, and in packaging suitable for the return journey. Mark the return authorisation number on the outside of the carton.

8. What to do if the part does not fit

Send us the vehicle’s year, make, model, engine size and VIN, together with photographs of the original part. Most fitment problems come from a mid-year model change or from a part number that crosses to more than one variant, and we can usually identify the correct item from those details. If we supplied the wrong part against a fitment list you gave us, section 7 applies. If the part was ordered against a number you selected, we will help you find the right one, but the return is treated as an order in error.

9. Contact
